JJ Outdoors is passionate about education based training for the hunter. Too many schools on the market feature experience based training. When you leave our courses you will have a solid skillset that you can apply behind any rifle system, not just a "Long Distance" shooting school you can mention to your buddies. You will also leave with a set of self diagnostic tools to help you identify shortcomings in your pre-season preparation. Jake's firearms knowledge comes from 15 years and 30+ overseas deployments as a Marine and Defense Contractor. His hunting experience started at a young age and has taken him to places like New Zealand, Alaska, Texas, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming and Idaho. In 2019, Jake became a licensed hunting guide in his home state of Montana. Leading more than 100 hunters on successful chases. Additionally, Jake has instructed hundreds of hunters since 2018 through JJ Outdoors and helped push more than 400 students through Montana's Master Hunter Program.  Driven by the desire to field more proficient and educated marksman, Jake wants to continue expanding JJ Outdoors reach to the hunting and shooting community.

The material covered in the classroom portion was perfect. Great emphasis on the fundamentals and how to utilize proper technique. Material is presented well in an easy to learn matter. It is extremely helpful when you’re shooting if you’re getting immediate feedback on your technique. Rather than just hitting your target and thinking you must be doing it right.

Jake's class was extremely informative, educational and was set at a pace that made it fun, engaging, and easy to grasp new concepts. He also was incredibly cautious about firearm safety and ensured we were as well. I didn't even know how to load a firearm prior to joining the class. But after, I left feeling entirely capable to operate my rifle and go shooting on my own.

I recently took a long range shooting course from JJ Outdoors. As an experienced hunter I was really impressed by the information in the classroom portion and then I had an absolute blast learning proper technique and form on the shooting range. I feel much more confident in my ability to take shots at longer distances.  More importantly, I now have a routine and skillset that will allow me to replicate and practice all the elements on my own time.
